Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the literary standard across the Middle East, North Africa and the Horn of Africa, and is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Arabic is the official language of 22 countries and every country has its own unique Arabic dialect. Arab countries use MSA in news broadcasts, legal documents, official speeches, books, and newspapers. Arabic speakers amount to approximately 290 million people, making around 4.23% of the world population.
